The Twelve Step Program to Cure Liberalism

Step Number One.  Look at a Map.
Miss South Carolina knows some things that Peggy West, not a model, but a politician, does not know.
Maps are important.

Washington Post: Where is Arizona? Don't ask Peggy West -- or Google
By Alexandra Petri
"Geography has always been a reliable source for this sort of entertaining mistake. Remember when Miss South Carolina was asked why most Americans couldn’t locate the U.S. on a map? She said we needed more maps, before she started repeating “such as like such as like such as” and had to be rebooted. "
I am pretty sure Petri might be trying to defend what Petri thinks is an innocent mistake ... by not knowing what the hell you are talking about - Google: Peggy West ... But Petri does hold out some ideas which seem like some classic liberal tactics, so let's just nail it to the wall as such.  Petri uses "US" so I can only assume Petri is in the same political boat full of donkeys as Peggy.
"And this seems to be the way more and more of us are thinking. Opinion first, information later. But actually knowing things matters for reasons other than not embarrassing yourself in front of YouTube -- it gives you a basis for your opinions and allows you to have debates that consist of more than meaningless shouting."

On a more positive note, at least there are more conservatives than there are liberals.
And how conservatives stay active in the still somewhat Free Market has a large impact on the "conservative movement"
Mr. Weigel of the Post discovered that the hard way.

Glenn Beck no doubt has some influence because he has a dedicated audience.  People buy all the books he mentions on his show, not him.  More people turn to his show than any other... any of the State Controlled Media that is.  O'Reilly might have him beat.
Cable News Ratings - Thursday, June 24
5PM – P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
Glenn Beck – 2,023,000 viewers (532,000) (966,000)
Situation Room—553,000 viewers (148,000) (202,000)
Hardball w/ C. Matthews – 570,000 viewers (120,000) (216,000)
Fast Money – 156,000 viewers (a scratch w/45,000) (83,000)
Showbiz Tonight — 193,000 viewers (91,000) (119,000
And this pathetic attempt to downplay this surge of the conservative movement made me laugh.
Huffington Post - Glenn Beck Hits 2010 Ratings LOW
"Glenn Beck has hit a new low for the year -- literally.
Beck's Fox News program saw its worst ratings of 2010 Friday, averaging just 1.776 million total viewers. Of course, that's more than his competitors -- MSNBC's "Hardball" (528,000), CNN's "Situation Room" (481,000) and HLN's "Showbiz Tonight" (197,000) -- combined, but it represents a continuation of a trend that began last month."
Oooooo Ariana.
Step Number Two.  When interpreting data, use a life line.  Data.
of course - if like the tickle me Elmo, we had a "ask me a data question" Paul Ryan doll some smart liberal might feel compelled to carry on with them.
That could be a usfull i-Phone app.
Jobs?  You reading this?

Why am I not surprised at this. I would hope the people who live in Wisconsin and who know where they are in relation to the rest of our nation and world would vote this lady out of office. Makes you wonder if she can find her own way home at night.
