What will become of the Oil Spill ?

Obama's Oil Spill on the Gulf of Mexico will provide him the clout to JAM through his 'Energy Bill'

This article - surprise, it is by ABC - is so full of convoluted events, ideas, opinions from the LEFT that one can only wonder about how "convenient" this is for Obama.

This "explosion" caused 11 deaths.  The collapsed mine in WV killed 29.  Obama made himself the Figure Head of the WV memorial - standing at the front of what should be a family event to mourn, and he even gave a speech.  And of course, it got national attention... if these "accidents" that are taking lives genuinely expose the compassion of Mr. Obama - then WHERE was he, where is he, in making statements and planning to be with families of this "accidental explosion?"

Those who are involved and have bought shares of this Global Green Initiative (what will drive Cap & Trade) stand to make an estimated 10 TRILLION a year.

Let's Compare:
Exxon - WIKI
"the damages award was cut to $2.5 billion on December 22, 2006. The court cited recent Supreme Court rulings relative to limits on punitive damages." ... "10.9 million U.S.gallons were spilled"

This One?
5,000 barrels a day are leaking from the rig What's in a barrel of oil you ask?  42 US Gallons
5,000 x 42 = 210,000 per day since April 20

Compared to Exxon ??? "The vessel spilled 10.8 million U.S. gallons (about 40 million litres, or 250,000 barrels"

From the ABC Article:
Will Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Jeopardize Obama's Offshore Drilling Policy, Energy Bill? - ABC News
  • Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Threatens to Jeopardize Obama's Offshore Drilling Policy

  • the White House today said that there will be no new domestic offshore drilling until the investigation into the Gulf of Mexico oil spill is complete.
  • "All he has said is that he's not going to continue the moratorium on drilling but... no additional drilling has been authorized and none will until we find out what happened here and whether there was something unique and preventable here"  Ah.  Yes.  "unique" and "preventable" ... like a lone wolf separated from the pack - like the underwear bomber who Obama claimed was not part of Al Qaeda?
  • the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has seeped into the energy debate in Washington, D.C., threatens to disrupt Obama's policy and the bipartisan energy legislation in the SenateAnd his cop out of this will be that it was HE who crossed the aisle and sidded with Republicans on this issue, and look at where it got him.  We should never listen to Republican ideas.  Doubt it ... you wait and see.  That line of reasoning will come through.

Obama last month lifted a longtime ban on offshore drilling and oil and gas exploration, saying it was crucial to U.S. energy security. In a rare case of bipartisanship, the proposal won broad support from Republicans.
  • it angered environmentalists, who argued that offshore drilling won't help lower gas prices or reduce the United States' dependence on foreign oil. Rather, it will adversely impact marine life and beaches.  And here is where the emotional hook is going to be for people - as this will be plastered all over the news like Obama's face was at the WV Miners memorial.
  • "The administration, I think, has moved quite systematically to try to broaden and strengthen that coalition and this really, I think, substantially complicates what was already a very complicated job of building a broad enough coalition so there would be adequate support for climate change legislation," said Bill Galston, senior fellow at Brookings Institute and a former policy adviser to President Clinton. "This is sure going to slow things down.In other words - the man admits that they wanted to initiate a STEP so that they could PROGRESS toward initiating MORE control and get closer to Climate Change Legislation.
  • The Deepwater Horizon exploration well, operated by BP Oil and owned by Transocean Ltd., exploded and started burning April 20.  But that is ALL we know.  We don't know HOW ... I have a good feeling of WHY
  • Much of the sea life in the region is in danger and the beaches are likely to be heavily polluted as slick washes up to the shore
  • Democratic lawmakers already are lining up against Obama's policy to expand offshore drilling and any bill that includes such measures Of course they are ... you can't let a good crisis go to waste.  And really.  Our end result could generate up to 10 TRILLION a year.
  • Democratic senators spent more time debating offshore drilling than the financial reform bill And Perhaps This Generates an Opportunity for Career Democrats who sold their souls ont eh Health Care Bill to find a reason(issue) that they can hold against Obama and distance themselves from him come election time.  Oh - But wait... they all voted for offshore drilling for Obama too.
  • Menendez and Sen. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey, also a Democrat, are calling on the president to nix it altogether. Distancing.
  • "Big oil has perpetuated a dangerous myth that coastline drilling is a completely safe endeavor, but accidents like this are a sober reminder just how far that is from the truth," the senators said in a joint statement Thursday.   And there it is... Laying the groundwork of reason to never allow offshore drilling to occur because something bad could happen.
